REVIEW | TIGER BALM (RED)

I had this little gem recommended to me a few years ago by an ex who did a bit of martial arts coaching, being told that they swear by this stuff.

It comes in a very small pot, making you think that you don't get much for your money. However, as it's a balm it actually lasts quite a while. I brought this pot around Christmas time and only used it a handful of times, but I've hardly even made a dent in it.

It can be used for a range of things, its main use being a natural alternative for deep heat.

I think Tiger Balm is great for injuries and muscle ache, as not only is it a pain reliever but it also increases blood flow to the area which in turn helps with injuries and recovery. It does have quite a strong smell, which reminds me a bit of vapour rubs that you get for a cold.

One thing I must say is be careful with how much you apply, having used balm type things for a long time (like lip balm) I'm very good at making it come out easier and then applying too much. The effect of the balm is slightly delayed, so it takes about 5 mins to kick in, which I seem to forget every time I apply it, so I get a massive kick after putting slightly too much on.

The sensation is quite odd, as it cools and warms at the same time.

The balm itself it bright orange, and people have said about it staining their clothes. I don't think I've ever had much of a problem with this though.

I actually brought a jar of this for my boyfriend to help with recovery from the gym and just aching muscles. He also loves it and uses it all the time.

Bottom Line
Would I buy this again?yes!
Would I recommend to a friend? yes!
Huge thumbs up for this product.

It is also available in a white version, which I think is weaker. The white version apparently can be used for things such as headaches. I will have to buy a jar at some point to try it out.
